What To Bring

Your food.

Walking shoes or hiking boots.

Warm clothes - it can be very chilly in the mornings and at night when star gazing.  A warm jersey and long pants are a must.

Summer - sunglasses and a sun hat

Winter - warm clothes and a warm jacket.  Maybe socks, a beanie, scarf and gloves.

If you have planned to do any hiking, make sure you are well prepared for a day tramp.  You must have clothes for bad weather, hiking boots, food and water, let someone know where you are going, and have at least one method of fully charged communication with you.  If the weather or forecast is not good, do not go.

Hot Tub, Shower and Hot Water

During your stay the hot tub is for your private and exclusive use.  Do not invite other people to join you at the campsite as this is against the house rules.

The hot tub is emptied, cleaned and refreshed after every guest.

There is a thermometer for you to use so you can add cold water to cool things down if or when required.  This is controlled by yourselves.   Instructions for the hot tub can be found in the Mt Nimrod Book.

If you are pregnant or have medical conditions that might be affected by the hot tub, then make us aware at booking.  It is your responsibility to check with your doctor prior to your stay.

There is no shower or running hot water at the site.  You can boil water for hot drinks and the hot tub can be kept hot for your stay.

How Much Camping Experience Do I Need?

You need to be able to:

Turn on/turn off a gas BBQ (written instructions are at your Pod)

How to light a fire for the firepit and to keep the wood fired hot tub going (Written instructions are at your Pod)

Not be afraid of the dark - The pods have solar powered lights inside and outside. There is a torch in the bedroom pod.

Mobile Phone/Wifi Coverage

This is an eco-friendly glamping site and you are totally off-the-grid.  There is some cell reception but no wifi.

You can charge your phone at the Pods as there are USB outlets in the pod solar system.

If you are planning to do a hike or tramp please make sure your phone is fully charged and you know the farm phone numbers.

Emergency or Need Assistance

In the event of an emergency there is a first aid kit in the bathroom/utility pod cupboard.

There is also a fire extinguisher.

We are happy to help in the event of any emergency or if you need assistance.  Phone numbers are supplied in the Pod building.

The nearest emergency services are at the Timaru Hospital or Timaru After Hours Surgery.
